AERO-DOCKS SYSTEM IV APPLICATION

System IV is Aero-Docks most advanced and sophisticated level of storage and offers the highest density possible. This is because 90 to 95% of a facility’s floor space is used for active boat storage. When the cost per site acre/hectare is very high this design can put many more boats on your land due to no aisle within the building. Due to this systems higher cost its application is best suited to land areas with high cost. Also this designed storage system is better suited to handle larger heavier vessels. The boats can be stored on a permanent set of bunks/rails mounted on the indexing carousel or for vessels over 46 feet (15 meters) the boat may be stored on a fitted custom sized carrier. Consult with Aero-Docks staff concerning if bunks or carriers is best on larger boats up to 75ft (23m).

Our original design was an oval carousel which is the design shown in the 4 minute video on our video page. The carousel has evolved from the oval shape shown in the DVD into a simpler and more efficient square indexing design but concept is same. By squaring the system with boats moved at each end to opposite side done simultaneously at both ends a significant higher density can be achieved using nearly all of available floor space for actual storage and income producing linear footage. This system has NO AISLE inside the building.

CAROUSEL SYSTEM IV FUNCTION EXPLAINED

As with our system III the boat enters the dock boat lift area and is centered automatically by 4 hydraulic arms, then the boat is lifted to land level. The single large centered travelling “Tug” (verses system III twin tugs on each side of boat) with an empty carrier retrieves the boat off of the in-water side boat lift. Once on the elevator transporter, which travels along the outside of the building, the boat then travels to the “stack” and floor level where the vessel is to be stored and inserted onto an indexing and rotating carousel within the selected floor level. As the boat is rolled into its stopped position the carrier and boat can as an option automatically be connected to electric to electrify the Refrigerator, Ice Makers and other equipment on board to maintain the boat for the owner as “Ready to Go”. Electrical power is computer monitored for ground faults to assure the safety of the boat and dry rack building. A full fire suppression system is incorporated for each floor of boats within the system. This system can also be built to height of 200 ft (60m).

These carriers are easily adjustable to properly fit the hull of all boats and drive systems. Different boats can use the same carriers allowing carriers to fit wide range of boats. Launch and retrieval times are longer if individual carriers are used due to carrier has to be returned to its carousel before another boat can be retrieved.
